The Hockey Vibe Shift: Patriotic Optimism Is Back, Baby!
The nostalgia created by the U.S. men's hockey team for a more innocent time is transforming the nation, reminding us that we are one nation under God, and infusing the country with optimism.
Patriotism came roaring back onto the national stage this week when the men’s Olympic hockey team brought home the gold in a game we haven’t won in 46 years. Millions of Americans tuned in and the afterglow of that victory is still upon us. But it’s not just patriotism. The country was filled with a sense of patriotic optimism as the victory sunk in, like just maybe, our best days are not behind us.
It’s the vibe shift we needed. Patriotism is back, baby! It’s hot! It’s cool again! And it is in da club.
The team spent their first night back on U.S. soil partying in good natured fun at a Miami club, leading the revelers in the star spangled banner.
There was a lot of footage of guys being guys, calling for more beer during press conferences and pretty obviously hung over when they arrived in Miami. But there was a wholesomeness to their revelry. Their love of country was pervasive, but so was their love of each other, and their love of the women’s hockey team, which also brought home the gold in a game against Canada.
It was masculinity without any nasty machismo. These guys are exactly the kind of role models young men need today.
For so long, the Left controlled the culture. They told us masculinity is toxic, that patriotism is racist, that working hard and pushing yourself to excel at something that requires physicality rather than a college degree is for losers.
The iconic image of Jack Hughes, draped in the American flag, minus three of his teeth that he lost during the game for the glory of his country, is the repudiation of all that. It’s the proof we’re in a new era where hard work, love of country, and masculinity are once again virtues worth admiring and striving for.
There was something deeply nostalgic about the image. It evoked the emotions of a more innocent, more unified time. But as the week wore on, those feelings of nostalgia started to turn into something else: hope. What if we could be that nation again, a nation whose enemies were other countries—not each other?
Naturally, the Left said no. For daring to unify the country, the liberal media had to tear the hockey team down a notch, especially after President Trump invited them to the State of the Union speech and the team visited with the President at the White House.
“The USA Men’s Hockey Team Utterly Failed to Meet the Cultural Moment,” USA Today would like you to know.
“If waving the American flag or chanting ‘USA!’ turns you off right now, you’re not alone,” Huffington Post declared.
“The U.S. men’s hockey team won Olympic gold for the first time since the ‘Miracle on Ice’ 46 years ago, and for a time, the joy belonged to everyone. By the next day, it didn’t,” said the New York Times.
Apparently, if your president invites you to the White House, you’re supposed to say no to please the New York Times.
The liberal media drummed up a fake news outrage cycle based on the idea that the boys had disrespected the women’s team when President Trump made a joke about how he supposed he’d have to invite the women to the State of the Union, too. But it was all just nonsense, as the women themselves admitted. The hockey team players repeatedly praised the women’s hockey team, in interview after interview. Even after the President made the joke, most of them were cheering for the women, not deriding them.
They also made it clear repeatedly that they didn’t view their visit to the White House or their appearance at the State of the Union as political. They saw it as honoring their country.
The whole week, from the victory against Canada to the White House visit to the State of the Union, reminded us of a time when we were less divided, when the White House was the White House, no matter who is in it, and when we were all fellow Americans, no matter who you voted for. And in embodying the nostalgia of a more innocent time, the men’s hockey team gave the nation a jolt—a vision of what we were, and what we can be again: one nation under God.

The reaction is breathtaking. Wokism is really a mental illness. Wholly positive events are twisted and contorted to ridicule America, its culture, history and of course white men. Truly shameful
